Issue #001:

Welcome to the New Design

Hey Reader,

Over the last few weeks I've been heavily focused on promoting my live workshop, the Creator Clarity Lab.

Waitlist is open if you wanna sign up for it to get all the good stuff.

And in doing so I've thought of the branding of this newsletter and it's goal.

Today, I want to share that, with you.

How It Was

When I started this newsletter in 2024 I set out to provide a lot of insight into what I do, how I do it and who I am.

I shared insights into what I know and gave tips and tricks along the way.

The problem with that, however, is that I don't know if any of this stuff is landing with you.

If it's actually something you WANT to read.

Does it actually SOLVE something for YOU.

I could go on...

What I Didn't Like About It...

There wasn't much that I disliked about it, but if I were to pick one thing, it's the marketing aspect...

I offer a number of resource from free to paid and there are different areas where this helps people, but do they?

I'm over here wondering, "What does my audience want or need in their life to make things easier or solve a problem for them?"

I can sit at my desk for 10 hours trying to brainstorm something, and get nothing.

Or some days I can spin up an idea in two hours, launch it just for shits and giggles, and see what happens, but with no marketing to back it up.

And that leads to an out-of-touch feeling.

Which I don't like.

What this changes...

This newsletter, now called '9-5 to Creator' is a take on the real goal of this newsletter, which I'll get to in a minute.

Coming from the name 'Friyay' it was catchy, at least for me, but it didn't emphasize anything about what the newsletter has to offer.

I wanted to change that so that anyone from the outside perspective could read the name and think, "Ah, yes, finally a newsletter that can help me leave my job and become a creator."

Which, yes, that's the title and that's what I want for myself and many others.

But what if you were to switch it up?

9-5 to Business Owner

9-5 to Real Estate Investor

9-5 to Entrepreneur

9-5 to Filmmaker

This is not mutually exclusive to those who want to be creatives, it can be about anything.

So, what's the goal?

The Goal

The goal of this newsletter is to help you, the reader, achieve whatever it is that you want to achieve, freeing yourself from the chains of the 9-5 work life.

Funny enough, one of the name ideas was about breaking the chain.

I am on the path to becoming a full time creator, and that will be the bulk of what this newsletter is.

But I do not want to pigeonhole you into a career path, like you likely already have been.

So when you read the name '9-5 to Creator' I want you to think about what your transition is to.

Because what I write in this newsletter is applicable to anything.

My background in business is universal to anything you could ever want to do.

I was pigeonholed into a career that although pays me well and allows me to live my simple lifestyle, is not what I had envisioned for myself.

So along the way of me achieving my vision, I want to help YOU achieve your vision with the knowledge and know-how in this newsletter.

Every Friday, like always, I will be releasing as long of a newsletter that I can, one jam-packed with information on whatever topics you want, and then some of what I want to write on.

To Do This Right, I Need Your Help...

I've revamped my welcome sequence to be much shorter and to the point, but in that sequence I asked two very specific questions that I want to give you the chance to answer.

If you can take 1-2 minutes out of your day to answer these, I would greatly appreciate it, more than you know.

All you have to do is hit reply to this email and send your answers to me.

Trust me, I will get to as many emails as I can and I will evaluate every one of them for future writings.

What's going on in your world that led you to sign up for this newsletter?
If I were to dedicate the next issue of my newsletter to you and the challenge you're currently facing... what would that issue be?

In next week's newsletter I will be diving into the first "essay" style of writing based on a topic one of YOU share with me.

I hope you're just as excited about this change as I am.

Chat Soon,

Joe Granitto
